After training as a baker pastry cook in Austria and Switzerland Joseph Kreidl came to Australia in the 1950’s seeking a future in the luck country. His Knowledge enabled him to open a cake shop in Melbourne in the 1960’s offering to the public a unique range of fine European style cakes. The shop soon grew and started wholesaling cakes to many cafes and restaurants around Melbourne. After selling the business Joseph started looking for his next challenge which was to come in the way of marzipan manufacturing. In 1980 Joseph started manufacturing marzipan using traditional methods and after many years of trials he had developed a quality which could rival many European manufacturers. 1992 saw the next generation come into the family business with son Glenn eager to learn the fine art of manufacturing marzipan. After many successful years working together in the family business sadly Joseph passed away in 2003. Today Glenn still runs the family business using the same traditional methods taught to him by Joseph and prides himself on manufacturing marzipan of the highest quality. The business now supplies marzipan to many manufactures around Australia from the smallest bakery the larges confectioners.
